Adobe has issued a critical update for all Windows and Mac computer users after a massive security flaw has been discovered letting hackers abuse users of sites like Twitter, Ebay, Tumblr and Instagram
The vulnerability was spotted by security blogger Michael Spagnuolo, and soon after a new version 14.0.0.145 was released to address the issue. Adobe has given the highest level of warning for the issue and advises that all users of Windows, Mac, Linux and Adobe Air products should install the update.
The Rossetta Flash tool converts any SWF file to one composed only of alphanumeric characters which can then be used to abused to make hacked machines perform server requests. Essentially meaning users sensitive data is potentially at risk
Essentially this means potentially sensitive data can be extracted from machines.
